Holy Paladin guide
Healer
Paladin · WoW Forever
Beta guide, level 30. The WoW Forever beta stops at level 30, so this guide and its build cover levels 1 to 30. We update it for level 60 after launch on November 4.
Holy Paladin is a plate-wearing healer with big, efficient single target heals. Forever helps its mana a lot: Reverence keeps 30% of your mana regeneration going while you cast, and Illumination refunds mana on crits. Holy Shock gives you an instant heal for emergencies and moving, and Light's Vigil is your one group heal.
Strengths
- Very hard to kill: plate, Divine Shield and self heals
- Excellent single target healing on the tank
- Blessings, Cleanse and bubbles bring lots of group utility
Weaknesses
- Mostly reactive: no heals over time or shields to get ahead of damage
- Little group healing (Light's Vigil is expensive)
- Low mobility

- Keep a Seal up, usually Seal of Wisdom for mana.
- Flash of Light for light, steady damage.
- Holy Light for big incoming hits: start casting a little early.
- Holy Shock when someone may die before a cast finishes, or while you move.
- Cancel heals you no longer need instead of wasting mana.

- Divine Shield
- Your own emergency button.
- Blessing of Protection

Stats
Healing power first, then Intellect (mana and crit) and crit (bigger heals and more Illumination refunds). Spirit is better than in Classic thanks to Reverence.
Best races
Alliance
- Human
- Ruthless: +1% crit with spells and attacks, plus 10% more Spirit.
- Dwarf
- Stoneform: cleanses bleeds, poisons and diseases and cuts physical damage by 10%. Artisan's Precision adds 1% hit.
Horde
- Undead
- The only Horde Paladin. Touch of the Grave drains health on hits, Will of the Forsaken breaks fear.
Professions
Blacksmithing is close to essential early for plate with healing stats. Engineering or Alchemy as the second.
Leveling
Holy is slow to level alone. Level as Retribution and switch to Holy for dungeons: groups always want a Paladin healer.
