Restoration Druid guide

HealerDruid · WoW Forever

Beta guide, level 30. The WoW Forever beta stops at level 30, so this guide and its build cover levels 1 to 30. We update it for level 60 after launch on November 4.

Restoration heals with effects over time and keeps everyone topped up. Forever gives it Wild Growth, a heal over time on the whole party, Gift of the Earthmother for faster instant heals, and Living Spirit for more Spirit. Swiftmend no longer eats your heals over time, heals over time can crit, and they stack with other Druids'.

Strengths

  • Strong healing over time, Wild Growth for the whole party
  • Mobile: lots of instant heals
  • Mark of the Wild, Thorns, Innervate, Remove Curse and Rebirth for the group.

Weaknesses

  • Heals over time react slowly to sudden spikes
  • No crit buff for the group like the other Druid specs
  • You need to learn when damage comes

New in Forever: Restoration talents

  2. Swiftmend when someone drops fast.
  3. Regrowth for bigger heals.
  4. Healing Touch for heavy, predictable damage.
  5. Wild Growth when several party members take damage (after launch).

Instant big heal.
Tranquility
Big group heal: let the channel finish.
Innervate
Mana for you or another healer.

Stats

Healing power first, then Spirit (your main mana regeneration), then crit (heals over time can crit now) and Intellect. Haste speeds your casts but not your ticks.

Best races

Alliance

Skyborne (High Order)
Wind Blessed (+2% haste) and Read Leyline for faster mana regeneration.
Night Elf
Elune's Light: +10% crit for 15 sec, plus Quickness (+1% dodge).

Horde

Tauren
Endurance (+5% health) and War Stomp, plus up to 60% run speed from Plainsrunning.
Skyborne (Windshaper)
Wind Blessed: +2% haste.

Professions

Leatherworking for leather gear (some only it can make), Herbalism (easy to gather in Travel Form) with Alchemy, or Engineering.

Leveling

Restoration is slow alone. Level as Feral or Balance and switch for dungeons; Forever's dual talent specialization makes swapping easy.
