Merchant's Favor

Merchant's Favor is a new currency in WoW Forever for crafters and gatherers. You earn it by sending materials to your faction's supply company, and spend it on recipes, a pet, a toy, a tabard and profession titles. Each character earns its own.

How it works

Find a Waylaid Crate. Enemies all over the world drop them, and you can buy them at the Auction House. Each crate asks for one kind of material.
Fill it and hand it in. Put in one of the material bundles it asks for, then bring the sealed crate to your faction's camp for Merchant's Favor and a little silver.
Do Craftsman's Writs for reputation. A writ asks you to deliver a crafted item to a customer. Writs give reputation with the company, not Merchant's Favor.
Spend it at the camp. The camp vendors sell recipes for your professions; many need reputation as well as Merchant's Favor.

Waylaid Crates

Four tiers: Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert and Artisan crates, asking for materials of that level: copper and linen early on, thorium and runecloth at the top.
Raw or crafted: Some crates take raw materials (cloth and leather, ore, herbs, enchanting dust) and others take crafted ones (bolts of cloth, bars, engineering parts). Crafted crates pay more Merchant's Favor.
Only one bundle: A crate lists several options; you only need to fill one of them. Pick whatever you have the most of.
Shipping Labels: Filling crates also hands out Shipping Labels for the company; bring them to the camp too.

Writs drop in the world or sell on the Auction House. You don't need the profession yourself: you can buy the item they ask for. You also get a Coin Pouch with silver for every delivery.

Tips

Gatherers profit too: Herb, ore, cloth and leather crates make this a good use for Herbalism, Mining and Skinning while you level.
It is per character: Merchant's Favor and the reputation belong to each character, so every alt starts fresh.

The currency, both companies and the rewards above are in the WoW Forever game files. Crate tiers, writ reputation and the camp locations come from beta testers and can change before November 4; we check them again at launch.
